The new “Lisa Frankenstein,” by Zelda Williams in her directorial debut, hits some of the same notes. Kathryn Newton stars as Lisa Swallows and Cole Sprouse as The Creature in LISA FRANKENSTEIN, a Focus Features release. This is where “Poor Things” and “Lisa Frankenstein” diverge. Bella Baxter in “Poor Things” starts out as a clumsy innocent, but she becomes more knowledgeable and self-confident over time. “Lisa Frankenstein” shows why that’s a loss for all of us — and Lisa is ready to cut up the patriarchy to prove it.

Actress and director Zelda Williams said the use of AI recreations of her father's voice was "personally disturbing." These AI recreations are at best "a poor facsimile of greater people," she said. CNN —Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda Williams says recreations of her late father made with artificial intelligence are “disturbing.”She took to Instagram on Sunday to explain her thoughts on AI, which is one of the key contract issues in the SAG-AFTRA strike against Hollywood studios. “I am not an impartial voice in SAG’s fight against AI,” Williams wrote. “I’ve witnessed for YEARS how many people want to train these models to create/recreate actors who cannot consent, like Dad. “I’ve already heard AI used to get his ‘voice’ to say whatever people want and while I find it personally disturbing, the ramifications go far beyond my own feelings. SAG-AFTRA resumes talks with the Hollywood studios on Monday.
